Ok sooOO iv`e been lurking around here reading posts for a good while

experience of Norman accoustic guitars ?? I`m pretty new in the field of
accoustic guitars .. Are they (Norman )a good make ? I`m led to believe
they are hand made in Canada . The model number is B18 (6) it also has a
serial number of 05302373 any help would be appreciated ..

Yep, made in K-beck, Canda (sorry "Quebec"). Check out

http://www.godinguitars.com/

There you find out that:

- Godin
- Seagull
- Art & Lutherie
- Simon & Patrick
- Norman
& - LaPatrie

guitar companies are all related. I bought a 1985ish
LaPatrie acoustic, which I am very pleased with. This
doesn't speak much for Norman, but hopefully the website
above is useful.

... does anyone have

I have a Norman Dred. Excellent guitar.
Worth many times what they cost.

Every guitar I've ever seen out of that
Godin-Seagul-Norman-LaSiDo group is an
excellent instrument.

I have a little Seagull parlor guitar that rings like a bell
and sounds better every day. Whe people see it they
think it's like a 3/4 scale kids guitar or something.

Just my 2 penny worth. I bought a Norman B20 6 string four years ago to
learn on & am still very much learning. I spend hours on the thing and it
sounds better each day. It cost me £250 UK pounds when I bought it and it
has saved me that by just playing it instead of at the pub.

The tuners are excellant, there is wear at the back of the neck where I have
worn away some of the woodsatin finish which to be honest I would expect
from the hours spent playing on it with sweaty palms. The bridge has
slightly lifted from the top at one end which does not worry me at the
moment.
The intonation is excellant, no rattles or buzzes from the guitar. I have
just retired and money is no object and could afford a Taylor or Martin and
have been and tried them with a view to buying one. I decided that my Norman
sounded just as good unplugged.
And I can take her to the pub or a club and not worry about having her
dinged!
Would I buy one again ...Yes but I think I would go for a cutaway with a
pickup next time.
Best £250 quid I have spent and ol blondie has helped me through some bad
times

Norman, Seagull, Simon and Patrick, LaPatrie, and a couple of other names
that I can't recall are all good brands made by the same Canadian
manufacturer. I have a Seagull and wouldn't hesitate to buy anything else in
their line. A very good value for a small chunk of change.

I too am a Seagull fan but have had a few bad 'knocks' along the way.

My A6's cedar top was split by my sons electric guitar when his strap broke
and his guitar fell on it.
That caused the bridge to separate which was more expensive than fixing the
split top. However the shop said they fix a lot of Seagull bridges so I was
a bit suspicious about that.

Since then (two years) the guitar has been great except for the cheap tuners
they put on. The plastic knobs broke on two of the tuners, so I put on a new
set of tuners. I was not impressed with that.

Do I like the guitar? yes, very nice guitar.
Do I have some thoughts about quality? yes.

I also have a 3/4 size Simon and Patrick which I bought for my 10 year old.
It is a beautiful guitar, with a sound much bigger than its size.

You blame that on poor construction?

My Norman came with grovers, nickel buttons.

No I would not blame the bridge separation from the accident on poor
construction. My point was about the shops comments on how many Seagull
bridges they fix.
