I was at a friends gig last night where he brought out this tiny
Fender amp.
I had to laugh because this was a fairly big place with 60-80 people.
They started the show with a Stones song...Brown Sugar.
I forgot about the little amp and enjoyed the music.
Then I noticed it sitting on a chair putting out a kick ass sound and
it was loud.
As the night progressed I fell in love with that amp.
A small tube amp that is giggable and sounds good.
Just what I need.
He replaced the 10 inch speaker with a Weber P10Q and put new tubes in
it.....I think JJ and Tungsol.
When I left I was hooked, I had to have one.
No more dragging my Marshall stack around unless I'm playing at a
really big place.
Scored a blonde one on ebay.
I can't wait for it's arrival.
Anybody familiar with these amps?

I have one and absolutely love it! I haven't gigged with it, but it is
perfect in my little studio. You can get all kinds of tone with just a
flick of a knob. I have plenty of other amps, but I'm proud to have this
one. Sounds really nice with my '68 Tele. I gave 100 bucks for it at a
local pawn shop. Best 100 I ever spent. It gets lots of use.

I bought one a few years ago, and haven't been sorry since! It is loud
for being such a small, light weight box. I haven't really gigged with
it, but have gotten together with a few of the neighbors in our back
yard (one plays bass, the other bangs the drums) and it held it's own
with no problem. Just to keep peace in the house, I often unplug the
speaker and plug my headphones in it. I did have a Fender Champ for a
short time a few decades ago. But this Super Champ XD is sure a lot
nicer!! It took me a while to get used to the digital reverb, not
hearing the springs twanging around when it gets bumped into is sure nice!

Jack-
Your amp needs an 8 ohm load...like an 8 ohm speaker.
Your headphones are not 8 ohms.
You're asking for trouble.

You're also asking for trouble if you unplug it without
shutting down the power on the amp first. Sand amps can
take a no load situation. Valve amps are much less tolerant.
Burnie ampie with no loadie.

I do keep the power on will I swap speakers, but no signal going through
the amp. I can't multitask that much, I need both hands for swapping the
plugs, and playing the guitar. Years ago I did make a three and six Db
8-ohm attenuator, if I can be lucky and find it again, iit would be
handy for the amp and headphone combo.

The headphones are 8-ohms, older Pioneer headphones.

That amp gets a lot of praise, but I still can't get my head around the
idea of putting digital multiFX in a tube amp, too much to go wrong, too
much of a good thing. I tried one in the local store. Once.

Maybe I'm just a dinosaur.

I had one when it first came out. It was really a great amp, my only
problem with it was I felt it needed a 12" speaker. That's the only
reason I don't still have it. Loud enough for a band...without
micing....not quite in my opinion....at least not if you expect any
kind of clean sound out of it.

It has a line out so you can run it through a PA and you can also plug
it into a big speaker cabinet.

The amp arrived today,
Beautiful little amp.
Does all that people say it does.
I will put it to the gig test this weekend.
I plan on replacing the tubes with JJ 6V6S and the speaker will be a
celestion gold.
