I received my new Yamaha FG-04 LTD acoustic guitar recently. I would
like to replace the strings with some Dean Markley GoldPhos ones that
are the same gauge Yamaha put on it. Does anyone know if the correct
gauge is 11s or 12s? I would appreciate any help anyone could
provide.

If you're trying to get the same *tension*, knowing the actual diameter may
not be what you need to know. Generally, light gauge acoustic string sets
start with .012.

If you want to know the actual diameter, a micrometer is the correct tool.
Bear in mind that the diameter of one string does not dictate the diameter
of the complete set!
